Writes great and shows good shading. It feels way smoother than it is because it feels like it pulls the ink much better. The biggest issue with the paper i feel is the coating on the paper is easily disturbed with finger tips and shows quite badly when written over it. Otherwise I reach for the paper quite often.
All the note pads came with the hard back loose, not glued or attached to the sheets.was this normal as I am going to glue the back cover to the rest of the pad.
I have the smaller pads and they are fixed to the sheets.
Very happy with the paper.

Endless Creative Block- Tear-Off Notepads - 70 Sheets - Large
I bought this (and the other two sizes) of Creative Block to try out the Regalia paper. It's definitely one of the better papers I've used, and I appreciate these little glue-bound pads for being a more casual alternative to a whole notebook. I've started using them to write penpal letters on, and I've enjoyed them a lot so far.
That said, I'm still noticing a number of smaller concerns with this paper compared to, say, Tomoe River. The two biggest are lack of resistance to fingerprints (ink refuses to stick where you've previously touched it, which occasionally renders words completely illegible) and a tendency to feather in response to pressure (especially noticeable on fine point pens that lay down a lot of ink when flexed). It's still good paper, but it like any product, it has its drawbacks in exchange for its advantages.
