Endless Phantom Retractable Fountain Pen

I love this retractable pen. Its Nebula Blue color is lovely and the chrome trim is a lovely compliment to its color. I love that it is not completely opaque and not see through like a demonstrator. It is not overly heavy like some retractable and is nicely balanced. An extra fine nib suits this pen well. It writes well and provides some feedback the some writers appreciate.

The pen is great, feels so smooth and buttery to write with
The click mechanism construction could be done better, I had trouble the first time I had to fill the converter, the spacer ring and rubber grommet that houses the needle and keeps ink from spilling out in case of a leak, both fell Out from the front and got misaligned
Everytime I’ve had to refill the pen the same issue repeats, and it’s a hassle to realign them and put them back in the narrow space in the tip of the pen before putting it all back together to use.

Flow could be better too, the nib drys out very quickly, half a day of not using it and I have to scribble on a piece of paper till the feed has ink flow again.

Great start, but inconsistent performance over 31 days

This review is based on 31 days of daily use of the Nebula Phantom (medium nib), primarily for regular writing at my desk.

My initial experience was excellent..the ink flow was smooth, consistent, and genuinely enjoyable. It actually made me want to write more, which is always a great sign with a fountain pen.

However, over time I’ve noticed a decline in performance. Despite the pen being used in a stable, desk-bound environment, the flow is no longer as consistent as it was initially. Around the 30-day mark, it started to feel closer to a fine nib with frequent flow issues. When writing even slightly faster, the ink sometimes struggles to keep up, leading to skipping.

Given that this is positioned as a premium product, this change in performance within a relatively short period is a bit concerning. I still appreciate the design and the initial writing experience, but I hope the long-term reliability..especially of the nib and feed..can match that strong first impression.

Given the slimmer profile and general absence of bulk, these notebooks would also make excellent travel journals. Since the pages are numbered, this notebook could also easily be converted into a bullet journal.
